About

Hi! Thanks for reading my blog. I’m what is called a Third Culture Kid, because I was born and raised in Japan of American missionary parents. TCK’s create their own culture as a synthesis of heir parents’ culture and the culture of their environment. I’m proof that you can be a grandfather and still be a kid! Raised in a missionary family, I’ve been steeped in the Bible from infancy, and my life has been a journey of learning to apply it. I’m far from perfect, but it is a joy to me to share with you some of the things God shows me day by day.

Some readers have been interested in how they could support my work in Japan, so I have added the ability to accept donations.

  1. if you want to increase readers, hand out likes indiscriminately in your reader, on blogs say under the Christianity heading or Jesus or faith, etc. As you hand on these likes as if they were business cards, more readers will come back to your blog. You’ll pick up more followers. You have very good stuff and it deserves to get out there.

Thanks, Jack, for liking my post, “A New Beginning”, at my blog, “Learning From God’s Word.” God bless you and make you a blessing to many.

  3. Hey Jack! Just got your comment from back in November. We’re a local Christian band from Greenwood, IN – looking to network with some good folks and see where God takes us. We are ready to be used for God’s purposes.

Thank you for offering to contact the songwriters whose songs you translated, that sounds interesting! I would like to know more about that for sure.

    Are you from Greenwood also?

Nice to meet you Jack, looking forward to hearing more about what you are doing.

  4. You can also email Steve Rapp at crosstixrapper@hotmail.com – he’s the lead singer & songwriter for the band. I’m just the guy who does their website 🙂

So definitely give Steve an email, he would really like to hear more about you. Thanks!

  5. I saw your most recent post and that you mentioned the Japanese word for ‘cute.’ In Chinese it’s the same, pronounced “ke’ai” and I imagine the Chinese characters and Japanese kanji are the same. Anyway, I’ve always liked this literal translation too.

Hi Jack, it’s Matt from Australia here; we visited many years ago! I’ve noticed there haven’t been any posts over the last few days and I hope and pray that you and your family are all OK. Still thinking of you and praying for you after all these years. Matt

Wow it sounds like you have quite a history with Japan. Our experience is quite tragic. Still I pray that many will find Him.
